Martinis and Mascara is a blog devoted to all things beauty (and occasionally, cocktails) written by award-winning beauty blogger and professional makeup artist Katie McBroom. Well versed in all things beauty, Katie has several years of experience writing for various lifestyle publications, covering topics from makeup tips to celebrity beauty news.

Martinis and Mascara recently gained national recognition when Katie was selected as a finalist in Allure Magazine’s 2013 Beauty Blogger Awards. She eluded elimination in all five rounds of the contest and was ultimately dubbed the Most Buzzworthy Blogger of the Year for producing the most viral content across multiple social media platforms.

Prior to launching Martinis and Mascara, Katie was a beauty product reviewer for the Gal Friday Product Panel, published weekly in the Palm Beach Post’s Accent section for over five years. During her stint on the panel, she was also a weekly radio guest on KOOL 105.5’s Mo and Sally Morning Show to share her expertise and discuss her opinion on the hottest beauty products on the market. She also contributed to publications including Tyra Banks’ beauty and fashion site, typeF.com, and has covered celebrity beauty news for DailyGlow.com. In addition to her beauty writing, Katie’s work has been published on sites including The Huffington Post. She was also featured as a makeup expert and starred in a video series of makeup tutorials on eHow.com’s Style Channel.

Katie launched Martinis and Mascara in February 2012 to dish out her opinion on all things beauty and simply to chat about what she knows and loves! The blog consists of several components including Product Reviews, Beauty News, Beauty Advice, Makeup Tutorials, and original features like “Salon Spy,” where Katie receives treatments from salons all over the nation and reviews the service, salon, and overall experience. Katie also whips up themed makeup recommendations and cocktail pairings in her recurring “Wear This/Drink That” posts.
